Announcements

Invocation

Scripture: Acts 17:22-31

22 Then Paul stood in front of the Areopagus and said, “Athenians, I see how extremely spiritual you are in every way. 23 For as I went through the city and looked carefully at the objects of your worship, I found among them an altar with the inscription, ‘To an unknown god.’ What therefore you worship as unknown, this I proclaim to you. 24 The God who made the world and everything in it, he who is Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in shrines made by human hands, 25 nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mortals life and breath and all things. 26 From one ancestor[a] he made all peoples to inhabit the whole earth, and he allotted the times of their existence and the boundaries of the places where they would live, 27 so that they would search for God[b] and perhaps fumble about for him and find him—though indeed he is not far from each one of us. 28 For ‘In him we live and move and have our being’; as even some of your own poets have said,

‘For we, too, are his offspring.’

29 “Since we are God’s offspring, we ought not to think that the deity is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and imagination of mortals. 30 While God has overlooked the times of human ignorance, now he commands all people everywhere to repent, 31 because he has fixed a day on which he will have the world judged in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed, and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.”

“Praise to the Lord, the Almighty”

Hymn #20

Praise to the Lord, the Almighty,

the King of creation!

O my soul, praise Him,

for He is thy health and salvation!

All ye who hear,

Now to His temple draw near;

Join me in glad ad-o-ra-tion!

Praise to the Lord,

Who o'er all things so wondrously reigneth,

Shelters thee under His wings,

Yea, so gently sustaineth!

Hast thou not seen

How thy desires all have been Granted

In what he ordaineth?

Praise to thee Lord,

Who doth prosper thy work

and defend thee;

Surely His goodness and mercy here

Daily attend thee.

Ponder anew What the Almighty can do

If with His love He befriend thee.

Praise to the Lord!

O let all that is in me adore Him!

All that hath life and breath,

Come now with praises before Him!

Let the “amen”

Sound from His people again;

Gladly for-ev-er adore Him!

“Wonderful Grace of Jesus”

Hymn #360

Wonderful grace of Jesus,

Greater than all my sin-

How shall my tongue describe it?

Where shall His praise begin?

Taking away my burden,

Setting my spirit free;

For the wonderful grace of Jesus

reaches me.

Wonderful the matchless

grace of Jesus,

Deeper than the mighty rolling sea!

Higher than the mountain,

Sparkling like a fountain,

All sufficient grace for even me!

Broader than the scope

of my transgressions,

Greater far than all my

sin and shame!

O magnify the precious

name of Jesus!

Praise His name!

Wonderful grace of Jesus,

Reaching to all the lost-

By it I have been pardoned,

Saved to the uttermost.

Chains have been torn asunder,

Giving me liberty;

For the wonderful grace of Jesus

reaches me.

Wonderful the matchless

grace of Jesus,

Deeper than the mighty rolling sea!

Higher than the mountain,

Sparkling like a fountain,

All sufficient grace for even me!

Broader than the scope

of my transgressions,

Greater far than all my

sin and shame!

O magnify the precious

name of Jesus!

Praise His name!

Wonderful grace of Jesus,

Reaching the most defiled-

By its transforming power

Making him God’s dear child,

Purchasing peace and heaven

For all eternity;

And the wonderful grace of Jesus

reaches me.

Wonderful the matchless

grace of Jesus,

Deeper than the mighty rolling sea!

Higher than the mountain,

Sparkling like a fountain,

All sufficient grace for even me!

Broader than the scope

of my transgressions,

Greater far than all my

sin and shame!

O magnify the precious

name of Jesus!

Praise His name!

Scripture: 1 Peter 3:13-22

13 Now who will harm you if you are eager to do what is good? 14 But even if you do suffer for doing what is right,[a] you are blessed. Do not fear what they fear,[b] and do not be intimidated, 15 but in your hearts sanctify Christ as Lord. Always be ready to make your defense to anyone who demands from you an accounting for the hope that is in you, 16 yet do it with gentleness and respect. Maintain a good conscience so that, when you are maligned,[c] those who abuse you for your good conduct in Christ may be put to shame. 17 For it is better to suffer for doing good, if suffering should be God’s will, than to suffer for doing evil. 18 For Christ also suffered[d] for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, in order to bring you[e] to God. He was put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit, 19 in which also he went and made a proclamation to the spirits in prison, 20 who in former times did not obey, when God waited patiently in the days of Noah, during the building of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight lives, were saved through water. 21 And baptism, which this prefigured, now saves you—not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for[f] a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22 who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers made subject to him.

Invitation

Confession

Pardon

Peace

Christ our Lord invites to his table all who love him,

who earnestly repent of their sin   and seek to live in peace with one another.Therefore, let us confess our sin before God and one another.

Merciful God, We confess that we have not loved you with our whole heart. We have failed to be an obedient church.

We have not done your will, we have broken your law,

we have rebelled against your love, we have not loved our neighbors, and we have not heard the cry of the needy.

Hear the good news,

Christ died for us while we were still sinners,

which proves God’s love for us. In the name of Jesus Christ, You Are forgiven

In the name of Jesus Christ, You Are forgiven

Glory to God, Amen.

Tithes & Offering

Doxology

Praise God, from whom all blessings flow;

Praise Him, all creatures here below;

Praise Him above, ye heav'nly host;

Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.

Joys & Concerns

Pastoral Prayer

Scripture: John 14:15-21

15 “If you love me, you will keep my commandments. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, to be with you forever. 17 This is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him because he abides with you, and he will be in you.

18 “I will not leave you orphaned; I am coming to you.19 In a little while the world will no longer see me, but you will see me; because I live, you also will live. 20 On that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. 21 They who have my commandments and keep them are those who love me, and those who love me will be loved by my Father, and I will love them and reveal myself to them.”

“10,000 Reasons”

Bless the Lord, O my soul, O my soul, Worship His holy name.

Sing like never before, O my Soul. I’ll worship your holy name.

The sun comes up,

it’s a new day dawning;

It’s time to sing your song again.

Whatever may pass, and whatever lies before me,

Let me be singing when the evening comes.

Bless the Lord, O my soul, O my soul, Worship His holy name.

Sing like never before, O my Soul. I’ll worship your holy name.

You’re rich in love, and You’re slow to anger.

Your name is great, and Your heart is kind.

For all Your goodness, I will keep on singing;

Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find.

Bless the Lord, O my soul, O my soul, Worship His holy name.

Sing like never before, O my Soul. I’ll worship your holy name.

And on that day when my strength is failing,

The end draws near, and my time has come;

Still my soul with sing your praise unending:

Ten thousand years and then forever more

Bless the Lord, O my soul, O my soul,

Worship His holy name.

Sing like never before,

O my Soul. I’ll worship your holy name.

“No Longer Slaves”

You unravel me,

with a melody

You surround me with a song

Of deliverance, from my enemies

Till all my fears are gone

I’m no longer a slave to fear

I am a child of God

I’m no longer a slave to fear

I am a child of God

From my mothers womb

You have known me

Love has called my name

I’ve been born again,

into a family

Your blood flows through my veins

I’m no longer a slave to fear

I am a child of God

I’m no longer a slave to fear

I am a child of God

I am surrounded

By the arms of the father

I am surrounded

By songs of deliverance

We've been liberated

From our bondage

Were the sons and the daughters

Let us sing our freedom

You split the sea

So I could walk right through it

My fears were drowned in perfect love

You rescued me

And I will stand and sing

I am the child of God

I’m no longer a slave to fear

I am a child of God

I’m no longer a slave to fear

I am a child of God

Scripture: Psalm 66:8-20

Bless our God, O peoples; let the sound of his praise be heard,who has kept us among the living    and has not let our feet slip.10 For you, O God, have tested us; you have tried us as silver is tried.11 You brought us into the net; you laid burdens on our backs;12 you let people ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water; yet you have brought us out to a spacious place.

13 I will come into your house with burnt offerings; I will pay you my vows,14 those that my lips uttered    and my mouth promised when I was in trouble.15 I will offer to you burnt offerings of fatted calves, with the smoke of the sacrifice of rams; I will make an offering of bulls and goats. Selah

16 Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will tell what he has done for me.17 I cried aloud to him,    and he was extolled with my tongue.18 If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.19 But truly God has listened; he has heard the words of my prayer.

20 Blessed be God, who has not rejected my prayer or removed his steadfast love from me.

Message: Pastor Ryan

“Cherishing Iniquity?”

Communion

The Communion Supper, instituted by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is a sacrament, which proclaims His life, His sufferings, His sacrificial death and resurrection, and the hope of His coming again. Brothers and sisters in Christ,the Christian life is redeemed from sin and consecrated to God.The Supper is a means of grace in which Christ is present

by the Spirit.

It is to be received in reverent appreciation and gratefulness for the work of Christ. All those who are truly repentant, forsaking their sins, and believing in Christ for salvation are invited to participate in the death and resurrection of Christ. We come to the table that we may be renewed in life and salvation and be made one by the Spirit.

In unity with the Church, we confess our faith: Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again.

Holy God, We gather at this, your table, in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, who by your Spirit was anointed to preach good news to the poor, proclaim release to the captives, set at liberty those who are oppressed.

2-17 Christ healed the sick, fed the hungry, ate with sinners, and established the new covenant for forgiveness of sins. We live in the hope of His coming again.

On the night in which He was betrayed, He took bread, gave thanks, broke the bread, gave it to His disciples, and said: “Take, eat; this is my body which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.

Likewise, when the supper was over, he took the cup, gave thanks, gave it to His disciples, and said: “Drink from this, all of you, this is my blood of the new covenant, poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in remembrance of me.” Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

And so, we gather as the Body of Christ to offer ourselves to you in praise and thanksgiving. Pour out your Holy Spirit on us and on these your gifts. Make them by the power of your Spirit to be for us the body and blood of Christ, that we may be for the world the Body of Christ, redeemed by His blood.

By your Spirit make us one in Christ, one with each other, and one in the ministry of Christ to all the world, until Christ comes in final victory. In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, Amen. And now, as our Savior Christ has taught us, let us pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen
