Invocation

Psalm 31: 1-5, 19-24

In you, O Lord, I seek refuge; do not let me ever be put to shame; in your righteousness deliver me. Incline your ear to me; rescue me speedily. Be a rock of refuge for me, a strong fortress to save me.

You are indeed my rock and my fortress; for your name’s sake lead me and guide me, take me out of the net that is hidden for me, for you are my refuge. Into your hand I commit my spirit; you have redeemed me, O Lord, faithful God.

19 O how abundant is your goodness that you have laid up for those who fear you, and accomplished for those who take refuge in you, in the sight of everyone! 20 In the shelter of your presence you hide them from human plots; you hold them safe under your shelter from contentious tongues.

21 Blessed be the Lord, for he has wondrously shown his steadfast love to me when I was beset as a city under siege. 22 I had said in my alarm, “I am driven far[d] from your sight.” But you heard my supplications when I cried out to you for help.

23 Love the Lord, all you his saints. The Lord preserves the faithful, but abundantly repays the one who acts haughtily. 24 Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord.

It is Well with my Soul When peace like a river, attendeth my way, When sorrows like sea billows roll Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say

It is well, it is well, with my soul It is well With my soul It is well, it is well with my soul

Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come, Let this blest assurance control, That Christ has regarded my helpless estate, And hath shed His own blood for my soul It is well (it is well) With my soul (with my soul) It is well, it is well with my soul

My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought My sin, not in part but the whole, Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more, Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, o my soul

It is well (it is well) With my soul (with my soul) It is well, it is well with my soul Once I was bound by sin’s galling fetters, Chained like a slave, I struggled in vain; But I received a glorious freedom, When Jesus broke my fetters in twain.

Refrain: Glorious freedom, wonderful freedom, No more in chains of sin I repine! Jesus the glorious Emancipator, Now and forever He shall be mine.

Freedom from pride and all sinful follies, Freedom from love and glitter of gold; Freedom from evil, temper, and anger, Glorious freedom, rapture untold.

Freedom from fear with all of its torments, Freedom from care with all of its pain; Freedom in Christ, my blessed Redeemer, He who has rent my fetters in twain.

Deuteronomy 11:18-28 18You shall put these words of mine in your heart and soul, and you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and fix them as an emblem on your forehead. 19Teach them to your children, talking about them when you are at home and when you are away, when you lie down and when you rise. 20Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates, 21so that your days and the days of your children may be multiplied in the land that the Lord swore to your ancestors to give them, as long as the heavens are above the earth. 22If you will diligently observe this entire commandment that I am commanding you, loving the Lord your God, walking in all his ways, and holding fast to him, 23then the Lord will drive out all these nations before you, and you will dispossess nations larger and mightier than yourselves. 24Every place on which you set foot shall be yours; your territory shall extend from the wilderness to the Lebanon and from the River, the river Euphrates, to the Western Sea. 25No one will be able to stand against you; the Lord your God will put the fear and dread of you on all the land on which you set foot, as he promised you. 26See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse: 27the blessing, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God that I am commanding you today; 28and the curse, if you do not obey the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn from the way that I am commanding you today, to follow other gods that you have not known. Offering

Romans 1:1-6, 3:22-31 16For I am not ashamed of the gospel; it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who has faith, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.17For in it the righteousness of God is revealed through faith for faith; as it is written, “The one who is righteous will live by faith.”

For there is no distinction,23since all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God;24they are now justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,25whom God put forward as a sacrifice of atonement by his blood, effective through faith. He did this to show his righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over the sins previously committed;26it was to prove at the present time that he himself is righteous and that he justifies the one who has faith in Jesus.27Then what becomes of boasting? It is excluded. By what law? By that of works? No, but by the law of faith.28For we hold that a person is justified by faith apart from works prescribed by the law.29Or is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also,30since God is one; and he will justify the circumcised on the ground of faith and the uncircumcised through that same faith.31Do we then overthrow the law by this faith? By no means! On the contrary, we uphold the law. You Alone Can Rescue By Matt Redman

[Verse 1]

Who, O Lord could save themselves,

Their own soul could heal?

Out shame was deeper than the sea;

Your grace is deeper still

[Chorus]

And You alone can rescue

You alone can save

You alone can lift us from the grave

You came down to find us,

Led us out of death.

To You alone belongs the highest praise

Verse 2

You, O Lord, have made a way,

The great divide You healed

For when our hearts were far away,

Your love went further still

Yes, Your love goes further still

[Chorus 2]

And You alone can rescue

You alone can save

You alone can lift us from the grave

You came down to find us,

Led us out of death.

To You alone belongs the highest praise

To You alone belongs the highest praise

To You alone belongs the highest praise

[Mid Section]

We lift up our eyes, lift up our eyes

You’re the giver of life.

It is Well Grander earth has quaked before Moved by the sound of His voice Seas that are shaken and stirred Can be calmed and broken for my regard

CHORUS

Through it all, through it all My eyes are on You Through it all, through it all It is well Through it all, through it all My eyes are on You It is well with me

VERSE 2

Far be it from me to not believe Even when my eyes can’t see And this mountain that’s in front of me Will be thrown into the midst of the sea

BRIDGE

So let go my soul and trust in Him The waves and wind still know His name

OUTRO

It is well with my soul It is well with my soul It is well with my soul It is well, it is well with my soul Prayer Matthew 7:13-29 13“Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road is easy that leads to destruction, and there are many who take it. 14For the gate is narrow and the road is hard that leads to life, and there are few who find it.

15“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16You will know them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thorns, or figs from thistles? 17In the same way, every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. 18A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20Thus you will know them by their fruits.

21“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.22On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many deeds of power in your name?’23Then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; go away from me, you evildoers.’24“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock.25The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on rock.26And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not act on them will be like a foolish man who built his house on sand.27The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell—and great was its fall!”28Now when Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were astounded at his teaching,29for he taught them as one having authority, and not as their scribes.
