Don't forget about this week!

Once again the week started dreary. As I was reading the Psalms this morning, I took heart in Psalm 10:14: "But you do see! Indeed you note trouble and grief, that you may take it into your hands; the helpless commit themselves to you; you have been the helper of the orphan." God sees us even in trouble and grief. And the church is better at seeing the needs of each other when we see each other. Below are some chances to see your church.

Saturday Oct 16th The Teens are hosting another pancake breakfast- starts at 9:00 am!

Wednesday night is our usual Community Dinner. We have good food, good conversations, and EVERY WEEK we have new people from the neighborhood joining us! If you're looking for a way to serve in the church, come to the dinner and meet those who show up. Presence and a listening ear can do incredible work!

If you're at church for Dinner, why not stay for a time of learning about prayer and then actual prayer?

The Ladies Day on Oct. 16 has CHANGED! Now on Nov. 6th they will be heading down to Shipshewana. More details coming this Sunday. On Friday Oct. 22 the teens will be heading to the 3 Mile project for the district lock in.

Saturday Oct. 23 the Prime Time ministries is hosting a Harvest Dinner at noon. The Prime Timers will be providing a ham, so bring a side dish to share!

Saturday Oct. 30 is the TRUNK OR TREAT! please come prepared to decorate your car and welcome hundreds of neighbors. It will be a great chance to reach out to our neighbors.

Sunday Oct. 31 is our Memorial Service. Theologians talk about the Church Militant and the Church Triumphant. The church militant is those of us who are alive, and the church triumphant are those who have gone before us in the Lord. The church believes that those who have died in faith are present with the Lord. They are Triumphant. In the Memorial service we will be remembering those whose faith has been passed on to us. We will be remembering our church family, but if you have family or friends who you would like to remember, this is a chance to do so. During the service we will have a candle lighting ceremony. If you want to remember someone, you can come light a candle and say their name in the microphone. If you would like to add one sentence like, "Jack Lucas, my grandpa, for modeling a joyful spirit." you may do so. We ask that everyone keep it to one sentence so that we can remember the many who have influenced us all. If you know before hand of someone you would like for us to remember, please send Pastor Ryan a photo with that person's name, date of birth, and date of death. We would like to put that information on the screen while we remember them. He needs this information by Oct. 24th.

Nov. 6th We're hosting a Risk day in the church gym. Bring a snack, the game if you own it. We plan on 4-5 games running concurrently!
