Article 1 Week 5

Here are the discussion questions for week 5 on the Articles of Faith. We are still on article1. Article one says: We believe in one eternally existent, infinite God, Sovereign Creator and Sustainer of the universe; that He only is God, holy in nature, attributes, and purpose. The God who is holy love and light is Triune in essential being, revealed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. How does God view creation? Read Psalm 145:8-11. What does it tell us about God’s relationship with creation? Lets read Matthew 10:29-31 How does God view creation according to Jesus? Because we believe there is only 1 God and creator, we also believe that there is only one sustainer. There is, however, a question, what does it mean for God to sustain the universe? Read Genesis 2:15. What does this tell us about how God sustains creation? Now lets read Genesis 6:19-21? How does God sustain creation there? What does Noah bring into the ark? Why does Noah bring all the animals into the Ark with him and his family? What about animals and eternity? Read Isaiah 11:6-9 Now let’s read Revelation 11:18, does any punishment stick out in our reading? How then should we interpret Genesis 1:28?

What about 1 Peter 3:10? Given our discussion, what is the human role in God’s creation?
