Invocation

Scripture: Psalm 37:1-9

1 Do not fret because of the wicked; do not be envious of wrongdoers,

2 for they will soon fade like the grass, and wither like the green herb.

3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; so you will live in the land, and enjoy security.

4 Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

5 Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.

6 He will make your vindication shine like the light, and the justice of your cause like the noonday.

7 Be still before the Lord, and wait patiently for him; do not fret over those who prosper in their way, over those who carry out evil devices.

8 Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath. Do not fret—it leads only to evil.

9 For the wicked shall be cut off, but those who wait for the Lord shall inherit the land.

“Victory in Jesus”

Hymn #352

I heard an old, old story,

How a Savior came from glory,

How He gave His life on Calvary

To save a wretch like me.

I heard about His groaning,

Of His precious blood’s atoning.

Then I repented of my sins

And won the victory.

O victory in Jesus, My Savior forever!

He sought me and bought me

With His redeeming blood.

He loved me ere I knew Him,

And all my love is due Him.

He plunged me to victory

Beneath the cleansing flood.

I heard about His healing,

of His cleansing pow’r revealing,

How He made the lame

to walk again

And caused the blind to see.

And then I cried, “Dear Jesus,

Come and heal my broken spirit”;

And somehow Jesus

Came and brought

To me the victory.

O victory in Jesus, My Savior forever!

He sought me and bought me

With His redeeming blood.

He loved me ere I knew Him,

And all my love is due Him.

He plunged me to victory

Beneath the cleansing flood.

I heard about a mansion

He has built for me in glory,

And I heard about

The streets of gold

Beyond the crystal sea,

About the angels singing,

And the old redemption story;

And some sweet day

I’ll sing up there

The song of victory.

O victory in Jesus, My Savior forever!

He sought me and bought me

With His redeeming blood.

He loved me ere I knew Him,

And all my love is due Him.

He plunged me to victory

Beneath the cleansing flood.

“Dwelling in Beulah Land”

Hymn #517

Far away the noise of strife

upon my ear is falling

Then I know the sins of earth

beset on ev’ry hand.

Doubt and fear and things of earth

in vain to me are calling;

None of these shall move me from Beulah Land.

I’m living on the mountain,

Underneath a cloudless sky.

I’m drinking at the fountain

That never shall run dry.

O yes, I’m feasting on the manna

From a bountiful supply,

For I’m dwelling in Beulah Land.

Far below the storm of doubt

Upon the world is beating;

Sons of man in battle

long the enemy withstand.

Safe am I within the castle

of God’s Word retreating;

Nothing then can reach me

‘tis Beulah Land.

I’m living on the mountain,

Underneath a cloudless sky.

I’m drinking at the fountain

That never shall run dry.

O yes, I’m feasting on the manna

From a bountiful supply,

For I’m dwelling in Beulah Land.

Let the stormy breezes blow;

Their cry cannot alarm me.

I am safely sheltered here,

Protected by God’s hand.

Here the sun is always shining;

Here there’s naught can harm me.

I am safe forever in Beulah Land.

I’m living on the mountain,

Underneath a cloudless sky.

I’m drinking at the fountain

That never shall run dry.

O yes, I’m feasting on the manna

From a bountiful supply,

For I’m dwelling in Beulah Land.

Viewing here the works of God,

I sink in contemplation;

Hearing now His blessed voice,

I see the way He planned.

Dwelling in the Spirit here,

I learn of full salvation.

Gladly will I tarry in Beulah Land.

I’m living on the mountain,

Underneath a cloudless sky.

I’m drinking at the fountain

That never shall run dry.

O yes, I’m feasting on the manna

From a bountiful supply,

For I’m dwelling in Beulah Land.

Scripture: 1 Timothy 1:1-14

1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the command of God our Savior and of Christ Jesus our hope,

2 To Timothy, my loyal child in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

3 I urge you, as I did when I was on my way to Macedonia, to remain in Ephesus so that you may instruct certain people not to teach any different doctrine,

4 and not to occupy themselves with myths and endless genealogies that promote speculations rather than the divine training that is known by faith.

5 But the aim of such instruction is love that comes from a pure heart, a good conscience, and sincere faith.

6 Some people have deviated from these and turned to . talk,

7 desiring to be teachers of the law, without understanding either what they are saying or the things about which they make assertions.

8 Now we know that the law is good, if one uses it legitimately.

9 This means understanding that the law is laid down not for the innocent but for the lawless and disobedient, for the godless and sinful, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their father or mother, for murderers,

10 fornicators, sodomites, slave traders, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to the sound teaching

11 that conforms to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me.

12 I am grateful to Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because he judged me faithful and appointed me to his service,

13 even though I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and a man of violence. But I received mercy because I had acted ignorantly in unbelief,

14 and the grace of our Lord overflowed for me with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.

Invitation

Confession

Pardon

Peace

Christ our Lord invites to his table all who love him,

who earnestly repent of their sin   and seek to live in peace with one another. Therefore, let us confess our sin before God and one another.

Merciful God, We confess that we have not loved you with our whole heart. We have failed to be an obedient church.

We have not done your will, we have broken your law,

we have rebelled against your love, we have not loved our neighbors, and we have not heard the cry of the needy.

Hear the good news,

Christ died for us while we were still sinners,

which proves God’s love for us. In the name of Jesus Christ, You Are forgiven

In the name of Jesus Christ, You Are forgiven

Glory to God, Amen.

Offering

Doxology

Praise God, from whom all blessings flow;

Praise Him, all creatures here below;

Praise Him above, ye heav'nly host;

Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen

Scripture: Luke 17:5-10

5 The apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith!"

6 The Lord replied, "If you had faith the size of a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, "Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it would obey you.

7 "Who among you would say to your slave who has just come in from plowing or tending sheep in the field, "Come here at once and take your place at the table'?

8 Would you not rather say to him, "Prepare supper for me, put on your apron and serve me while I eat and drink; later you may eat and drink'?

9 Do you thank the slave for doing what was commanded?

10 So you also, when you have done all that you were ordered to do, say, "We are worthless slaves; we have done only what we ought to have done!' "

“The Goodness of God”

I love You, Lord

Your mercy never fails me

All my days

I've been held in Your hands

From the moment that I wake up

Until I lay my head

I will sing of the goodness of God

All my life You have been faithful

All my life You have been so so good

With every breath that I am able

I will sing of the goodness of God

I love Your voice

You have led me through the fire

In the darkest night

You are close like no other

I've known You as a Father

I've known You as a friend

I have lived in the goodness of God

All my life You have been faithful

All my life You have been so so good

With every breath that I am able

I will sing of the goodness of God

'Cause Your goodness is running,

it's running after me

Your goodness is running,

it's running after me

With my life laid down,

I'm surrendered now,

I give You everything

Your goodness is running,

it's running after me

All my life You have been faithful

All my life You have been so so good

With every breath that I am able

I will sing of the goodness of God

All my life You have been faithful

All my life You have been so so good

With every breath that I am able

I will sing of the goodness of God

I will sing of the goodness of God

I will sing of the goodness of God

“I Speak Jesus”

Verse1

I just want to speak the Name of Jesus

Over every heart and every mind

I know there is peace within Your presence

I speak Jesus

Verse2

I just want to speak the Name of Jesus

‘Til every dark addiction starts to break

Declaring there is hope and there is freedom

I speak Jesus

Chorus

Your name is power

Your name is healing

Your name is life

Break every stronghold

Shine through the shadows

Burn like a fire

Verse3

I just want to speak the Name of Jesus

Over fear and all anxiety

To every soul held captive by depression

I speak Jesus

Bridge

Shout Jesus from the mountains

And Jesus in the streets

Jesus in the darkness over every enemy

Jesus for my family

I speak the holy name Jesus

Scripture: Lamentations 3:19-26

19 The thought of my affliction and my homelessness is wormwood and gall!

20 My soul continually thinks of it and is bowed down within me.

21 But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope:

22 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end;

23 they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

24 "The Lord is my portion," says my soul, "therefore I will hope in him."

25 The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul that seeks him.

26 It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.

“In the midst of destruction”

Communion

The Communion Supper, instituted by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is a sacrament, which proclaims His life, His sufferings, His sacrificial death and resurrection, and the hope of His coming again. Brothers and sisters in Christ, the Christian life is redeemed from sin and consecrated to God.The Supper is a means of grace in which Christ is present

by the Spirit.

It is to be received in reverent appreciation and gratefulness for the work of Christ. All those who are truly repentant, forsaking their sins, and believing in Christ for salvation are invited to participate in the death and resurrection of Christ. We come to the table that we may be renewed in life and salvation and be made one by the Spirit.

In unity with the Church, we confess our faith: Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again.

Holy God, We gather at this, your table, in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, who by your Spirit was anointed to preach good news to the poor, proclaim release to the captives, set at liberty those who are oppressed.

2-17 Christ healed the sick, fed the hungry, ate with sinners, and established the new covenant for forgiveness of sins. We live in the hope of His coming again.

On the night in which He was betrayed, He took bread, gave thanks, broke the bread, gave it to His disciples, and said: “Take, eat; this is my body which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.

Likewise, when the supper was over, he took the cup, gave thanks, gave it to His disciples, and said: “Drink from this, all of you, this is my blood of the new covenant, poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in remembrance of me.” Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

And so, we gather as the Body of Christ to offer ourselves to you in praise and thanksgiving. Pour out your Holy Spirit on us and on these your gifts. Make them by the power of your Spirit to be for us the body and blood of Christ, that we may be for the world the Body of Christ, redeemed by His blood.

By your Spirit make us one in Christ, one with each other, and one in the ministry of Christ to all the world, until Christ comes in final victory. In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, Amen. And now, as our Savior Christ has taught us, let us pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen

Benediction

Our mission is to love people so that

they become Disciples of Christ!
